| We here at Top Drawer Digital Ltd are asking all producers to join in an experiment, we want producers of all styles of music to have a go at producing a J Tek track .J Tek is intended to cross many genres of music letting DJs vary their playing styles, so we think getting those producers to write a J Tek track they think would enable that within their sets or simply for those who fancy experimenting in a new style. |  |
We here at Top Drawer Digital Ltd are asking all producers to join in an experiment, we want producers of all styles of music to have a go at producing a J Tek track .J Tek is intended to cross many genres of music letting DJs vary their playing styles, so we think getting those producers to write a J Tek track they think would enable that within their sets or simply for those who fancy experimenting in a new style.
Of course we want music from existing J Tek producers too we just want to add another dynamic. Our aim is to collect enough good quality music to release an album of the submitted tracks on Top Drawer Digital, hopefully from some new exciting artists pushing the sound into different directions.
Although the final decisions will be down to Top Drawer Digital , we are looking at the idea of giving all the contributors the opportunity to vote on which tracks they feel deserve to be released most.
A Soundcloud group has been started for the sole purpose of this experiment where everyone involved can listen/comment on the included tracks.
For the moment we are not going to put any time restrictions on this, were just going to get it running and see what sort of response we get.
For those of you that don't know about J Tek :
J Tek / New Skool Jungle Techno is a new style of music taking its ethos from the original Jungle Techno from around 1992-94, but speeding up the tempos and using todays high end production tecniques to give its own unique sound.
By fusing 4X4 rhythms with syncopated funky Breakbeats and taking insperation from many styles of music including House, Jungle, Drum and Bass, Acid, Techno, Electro, Dub and Reggae at tempos between 140-150 Bpm it is the ideal crossover music , enabling D.J's who want to vary the styles of music they play a bridge to do so as well as becoming a new style in its own right.
